10 months

ELI IS ALMOST A YEAR OLD. unfathomable. I will have two boys running around talking soon! And from the looks and sounds of Eli...it's going to be crazy! Eli LOVES James. Like seriously, can't.get.enough. It's hilarious to watch. James got a "Get Well Soon" balloon last night from Grandma and James was batting at it. Eli was screaming and laughing up on his knees waving his arms trying to do the same thing as James. I should have gotten it on tape. So cute. I love watching them interact.

Here is what else he's been up to this month:

*Sleeping through the night! It's been a long time coming. Sheesh. I got Mike in there to pat him back to sleep and the first couple nights were rough, of course. And it's hard while they are sick to know if they feel lousy, or if they are fine to just go back to sleep. But we are on the other side. Last night Eli slept from 8-5am without a peep. 5am is not ideal, I agree, but yes he was done sleeping. Good thing we went to bed shortly after him at 8:30! What?! :)

*Eating great, as always. I wouldn't say he's eating quite as much as he had been. It's by no means a little bit, but I don't laugh at the amount anymore. That might just be because I am used to it now?! He loves everything. His recent favorite was a recipe I had pinned awhile ago. It was mango, quinoa, applesauce. I put it all the the baby bullet and there were still some whole quinoa pieces so I wasn't sure if he'd go for the texture. He made me shovel it in though. He also recently tried corn. I made a carrot, corn, pea mix. He eats it alright, but it's not his favorite. I have to mix a couple fruit bites in there. The corn shell didn't grind up the greatest either. He also loves cheerios. It's the only thing that will get him in the highchair. He throws his head back, whines and pulls his legs up even when I walk near the highchair. I don't get it. I put him in and he's happy as a lark..it's just the initial thought I guess.

*Has amazing pincher grasp! He gets those cheerios with his pointer and thumb and shoves them in his mouth. He picks things up off the floor that I don't know he could. Yesterday he had the plastic part that hooks a price tag to a shirt in his mouth?!

*Understanding the word NO. He is not a fan of it. He loves to go for the hairdryer plug in the wall after his bath. He looks back at me and smiles and goes for it. I say no and he sits there and goes for it again. I had to flick his hand for the first time and he was so confused. He didn't cry, just looked at me like, "um, you must not have meant to do that, right?"

*Crawling! Fast as ever. He started Jan 23 and was don't a lot of face plants and only taking a couple "steps" then sit down and try again later. So in a week he has gotten it down. He's also pulling himself up and cruising around the table..so we'll see how long until he is taking steps. He will stand by himself, but not for too long usually. It's so fun to watch him figure it all out. I think I enjoy it more this time around!

*Saying Dadda and all sorts of other words we can't understand! He is a talker and a screamer. When he's excited he lets you know! And if you aren't paying attention to him and he wants you to look at him..he lets you know. He's so funny.

*Signing drink. I can tell him "say drink" when I have a drink and he'll do it. If I don't have one in front of him he won't do it.."just to show off". So hopefully he'll start picking up some of the other signs this month.

*Found the door stopper. Loves to sit and bat at that. Loves to close/open the doors-no fingers pinched yet! Loves to throw balls. Loves to play with James and any toy that he has! James has been learning how to share..or find Eli a toy :)

*Will play on his own for a good 30-45 minutes.

*He is just so sweet. He is also pretty curious and daring, which is the opposite of James, my cautious one. Eli will just go in my room and play with the door stopper, go in the dark bathroom and play with the bath toys..not a care as to where I am. He fell head first into the bathtub the other day reaching for a toy. And was stuck feet on one side of the clothes basket and chin on the other side, while his tummy was sinking in the middle. I don't know how he got in that position, but he wasn't happy about either. I am sure there are many more of those to come! I Love you Mr. Eli.
